2006 MAX Adventure Race
Event Description
The eigth annual Mid-America Xtreme Adventure Race will be held on the 29th of July, 2006 and will once again, prove to be the premiere event of its type in the Midwest. Racers will be tested by kayaking, canoeing, trekking, orienteering, mountain biking, ascending, traversing and rappeling in pristine forests and gorges of Starved Rock State Park in central Illinois.

And as always, do not make plans for after the race, because you will be treated to a catered feast fit for king, and our legendary post race party!

Race Length and Duration

  • The approximate course milage will be 50 to 75 miles. Individual teams may spend more or less time on the course depending on experience level.
  • 12 - 16 hours

    Team Information (40-team limit)

  • Teams consist of four competitors
  • Each team will need to have one support person and a vehicle that is capable of transporting the team's bikes, and canoe(s).
  • 1 team configuration: Coed
  • The cost for this year's race is $625 for pre-registered teams, teams registering after June 1st, 2006 the entry fee is $725.

    Pertinent Information

    WILDLIFE
    You will share the less trodden path with the local inhabitants of the forest including white tail deer, lynx, black bear, coyote, wolf, and turkey. But have no fear! They are more afraid of you than you should be of them. If you leave them alone, they will leave you alone.
